Oil Free Compressors
Reciprocating Compressors
Zorn offers oil-less reciprocating (piston) compressors from Quincy and Powerex in 5 through 30 hp. The units are completely free from lubricant and utilize Teflon piston rings and sealed bearings, and they are available in single or two stage designs and are capable pressures up to 150 psig. Typical applications include pharmaceutical, electronics manufacturing, food processing, or hospitals.
Rotary Screw Compressors
Oil Free rotary screw air compressors are a perfect fit for facilities that need a high volume of oil-free air. Zorn offers the Kobelco line of oil-free rotary screw air compressors, as well as lines from Compair. Available in either air or water cooled models from 20 to 500 hp, these two-stage rotary screw air compressors offer excellent performance and unmatched reliablilty.
Oil-less Scroll
Oil-less Scroll operate with a compression element made up of two identical spirals which are indexed 180 deg with each other. One spiral is stationary while the second orbits around the first. This offset creates air pockets which are then compressed during the orbit of the second spiral. Oil-less Scroll are virtually maintenance free and provides whisper quiet operation. Zorn offers Oil-less Scroll from Powerex in 3 and 5 hp.
Centrifugal Compressors
Centrifugal air compressors work on the theory of dynamic compression.These multi-stage units turn at high speeds and use impellers to impart velocity to the air. That air is then pushed against a diffuser plate to generate compression. Zorn carries the Cameron compression line of centrifugal compressors. These machines offer the highest cfm/bhp in the industry, have very low maintenance costs, and provide oil-free air. The Cameron line of centrifugals offers standard packaged units from 150 through 1700 hp, and engineered packages are available in larger sizes.
